Our curriculum meets the statutory requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum and is complemented by engaging experiences and opportunities that excite and stimulate our children. Our aim is to develop children who are resilient life long learners, with a passion for developing themselves, their knowledge and skills in order to be both ready for secondary school but also as importantly, the world beyond.
Each year group publishes a half termly 'Learning Journey' newsletter which details the learning our children will experience during that half term. This information can be seen under the Classes tab.
In English, we use the 'Read Write Inc' programme for EYFS and Key Stage 1 children, which also includes learning of phonics. In Key Stage 2 we use 'Literacy and Language' which follows on from 'Read Write Inc'.
In Mathematics we use a variety of resources, including the Liverpool Calculation Policy. We use the White Rose scheme to supplement learning, as well as an online practice and learning programme for class and home work.
In RE we follow the 'Come and See' Archdiocesan scheme of work.
Our foundation subjects work towards a topic based approach, linking subjects to improve learning where possible. We strive to write creatively and to high standards across the curriculum and we use a 'Book Art' approach to showcase this writing.
Further information on our curriculum can be found via class teachers who will provide you with an overview (Learning Journey) for each half term or via our Curriculum lead, Mrs Wilson.
