Friday 26.1.18.

Our final day of skiing was just as great as as all the others! Both groups worked hard to ensure they made the most of their final four hours of skiing. As like every day of the course, our children loved it! There were a lot of sad faces as skiing came to an end for 2018.

After skiing, ski presentations took place with our ski instructors coming to our hotel to present the children with their certificate and medal to reward their achievements this week. All of our beginners gained a ‘one star’ whilst the experienced skiers gained either ‘one, two or three stars!’ Super achievements by all and we are very proud of each and every one of them.

After dinner, we held our Liverpool Primary Ski Association awards. All our schools came together to recognise those who stood out in every school.

Our special winners were:

Grace C-best diary

Tidiest room- Tom O’ D, Tom McL, Joseph J, Joseph Y and Daniel C.

Quiz winners: Tom L, Joseph Y  and William C.

Most improved skier: Shay M.

Best techincal skier: Finley D.

Star pupil: Cristiano CDS

A wonderful end to a wonderful week.

All children are packed and ready for our return journey.

Please check our Twitter feed for arrival times.

Thursday 25.1.18.

Another marvellous day of skiing today with both groups attacking a variety of blue and red runs. Skiing skills are still improving; parents you would be so proud! All of the children are really listening well to their instructors and because of this are learning new skills every day and are really confident, competent skiers.
Tonight’s activity was the DISCO. We have some fabulous dancers attending the ski course!
The children are loving the whole ski course and gaining independence each day.
The ski page on the website will not allow us to upload any more photos due to the immense amount already uploaded! We will  endeavour to overcome this on our return to school but in the meantime please keep checking Twitter.

Skiers of the day were Zac A and Conor M.

Wednesday 24.1.18

A wonderful glorious sunshine greeted us as we went for breakfast this morning.
Both groups were really raring to go today and were ready for some serious action!
Our beginners tackled some new chair lifts and difficult blue runs whilst our experienced skiers skied to La Toussuire and back again facing many demanding red runs.
The progress of our children today has been immense; it is quite unbelievable how quickly they have mastered the slopes.
After skiing today, we hit the local shops and cafes for some hot chocolate and souvenirs.

Please scroll down on this page to see our photos of the day.

A big well done to yesterday’s skiers of the day: Luke McL and Joe C and today’s skiers of the day were Cristiano and Joe Y.

Tuesday 23.1.18

This morning we woke to beautiful clear blue skies which was such a blessing after yesterday’s rain!
The slopes were practically perfect. After a morning of practising our skiing skills, we went on some beautiful long blue runs this afternoon, both groups meeting up several times along the way.
Progress is excellent today. Mums and Dads you would be so proud!
Tonight’s aprees-ski was a quiz. We joined forces with St Paul’s and had lots of fun answering a variety of questions including a picture quiz on chocolate!
Another great day on the slopes. We are half way through our skiing week. Time is flying as are we...on our skis!

Monday 22.1.18.

A big well done to yesterday’s skiers of the day: Finley D and Paul H.

Today we woke up to grey skies and a downpour of rain which made lots of slushy snow.

Beginner’s group progressed to the button lift this morning and experienced group went on a variety of blue runs.

After a delicious lunch of pizza and salad the weather had improved and super skiing conditions welcomed us.

Such fabulous progress was made by all. Our experienced skiers learned how to ski backwards and the beginners tackled a blue slope on only their second day. This is a wonderful achievement and they are all very proud of themselves!
Dinner tonight was fish and chips which they all really enjoyed and they are currently watching Mega Mind in their movie night.

Today’s skier of the day was Will C.

All children are enjoying themselves and making memories to last a lifetime.

Sunday 21.1.18

Ski Course 2017

SaturdayAfter travelling from France to Italy to England we have arrived home safe and well. An end to a wonderful week. Our children have been ambassadors to our school, the ski association and our city. Not only have they learnt tremendous ski skills but many transferable life skills such as perseverance and independence. We are really proud of all they have achieved. Continue to look at this page where you will see lots more photos and videos. There will also be an assembly for all parents to attend to celebrate our wonderful achievements!

Friday: Our final skiing day. Again we were greeted by beautiful clear blue skies but slightly more icy skiing conditions today. All children were raring to go and couldn't wait to hit the slopes for one final time! The experienced skiers had an experience of a lifetime: they skied from France to ITALY! Once in Italy they skied some red runs and then had a delicious lunch on the mountainside. The rest of our school managed to ski a red run; a truly remarkable achievement for beginners!

Before tea the ski presentation took place. Each child was awarded a ski badge and certificate to celebrate their achievements on the slopes. Again tea was delicious and all children thoroughly enjoyed it. Straight after that the Liverpool Primary Ski Association presentation was held. There were certificates for best dancers, quiz winners, best room and then the important awards of the week.Thomas B was awarded most improved skier; Luca best technical skier and star pupil was Grace C. All children have been an absolute credit to themselves this week and we are really proud of them. Claudia L was chosen by Mr McSki for her outstanding contribution for the trip. We are all packed and ready for home looking forward to our own beds and reuniting with our families!

Thursday:  Another beautiful day on the slopes. Children have skied many kilometres today on green, blue and even black runs! Beginners are all now skiing with poles and most are mastering parallel turns. At the end of the morning session, our children had a professional 'action' shot taken which they have all bought to remind them of the wonderful time they have had! As it's World Book Day, our skiers took part in extreme reading and they actually read their book whilst skiing down the mountain! Tonight it was Disco Night. They all had a great time! All children are fast asleep in bed restoring energy for their final day of skiing.

Wednesday: A snow-filled ski greeted us today but by 10 o'clock the sun was shining and we were able to ski in perfect conditions. The children are making astounding progress; it's amazing to watch. Green and blue runs have been conquered confidently! After skiing we took a walk to the shops to buy some presents (mainly for themselves) and then had ice-cream outside sitting in the snow! Much Woolton scooped up the majority of prizes at Bingo Night! Tea was fish and chips which was enjoyed by all followed by a much needed early night! You would be so proud of all the children have achieved so far! They are amazing!

Tuesday: Really challenging skiing conditions today with never ending snow. Our children were amazing! Mr White and Mrs Moorcroft are really proud of what they have achieved in 3 days skiing! Your children are a credit to our school, their parents and most importantly themselves! Their skiing abilities are progressing tremendously well. You would be amazed!

Monday: Another fabulous day on the slopes:

I'm having a fabulous time. (Thomas B: the skiing ninja)

I went on the cable car and a green run today. (Claudia)

I went on a cable car for the first time yesterday and today I went on a blue run! (Luca)

I'm having a great time. (Alex O'D)

Skiing is really good and exciting. (Liam)

Sunday: A wonderful day's skiing was had by all. The weather was fantastic; blue skies and plenty of sun! All children made great progress. Plenty of slipping and sliding but super determination showed by all. All children are enjoying the food and eating well. Yesterday ended with a quiz and all were in bed fast asleep by 10pm with the teacher's not far behind!

Saturday:The journey to Montgenevre was smooth all the way with wonderful behaviour from all the group, and our fellow passengers on our flight were very complimentary about us all. Our hotel is warm and friendly and served us a lovely meal of soup and spag bol. The children were in bed by 9.30pm and will hopefully sleep well before we rise at 6.45am!

We are travelling as part of the Liverpool Primary Ski Organisation to Montgenevre and staying at Hotel Rois Mages along with children from St Paul's, Christ the King, St Nicholas' and Emmaus.
