The staff in our team are Mrs Pace and Miss Tonge (Class 9), Mr Hogg (Class 10) and Mrs Rimmer (Class 9 and 10). As staff we work closely as a team and encourage our classes to work as teams too. We believe that Together Everyone Achieves More. As teachers we have high aspirations for every one of the children in our care, we want them to be the very best that they can be, and strive to make sure that becomes a reality for all of them.
Children will be given plenty of opportunities to read during the week: whole class reading, guided reading in small groups and independent reading. Please encourage your child to read their own books at home for literal understanding and inference. Please ensure your child's reading record is signed at least once a week.
This year the children will prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. We support this preparation in school through prayer, hymns and regular visits from Father Tim.
Year 4's PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday please ensure children wear their kits on that day!
Spelling lists are issued on a half termly basis. The children will be tested on Monday mornings. Should you misplace your spelling list, you will find a copy below.
The children are expected to know by heart all of their multiplication tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4. Remember to use Timestables rock stars to help you to do this plus the games at the bottom of this page. The children will be tested on Monday mornings.
We are keen to help the children become independent learners, so please encourage them to organise themselves and remember their homework, so that they are developing the skills themselves.
No internet... No problem!
Read together, write a magical story, create books about things you are interested in, bake cakes, make pizzas, be creative, plant seeds in your garden and draw a chart for their growth, write a movie/book review, but most importantly- READ, READ READ!
Play board games, learn all your times tables, paint, draw, make playdough, learn how to tie your shoe laces (you know who you are)!!
Do puzzles, Sudoko, make your own crossword or wordsearch!
The whole world can be your classroom!
We hope that everyone is staying safe and we look forward to seeing everybody again soon.
Mrs Pace, Miss Tonge and Mr Hogg
